On Saturday October 30, 2010, Tanya Murphy Dodd - NCA Communications Representative and Anyta Thomas-Burwell - NCA Public Relations Representative visited the residence of Danny Simmons on behalf of the NCA Philadelphia Chapter. Also in attendence was Mark Dabney who appointed the New leader for the NCA -New York Chapter. Mr. Simmons was presented with a certificate of appreciation, along with a framed commissioned replica of James Dupree's collaborated poster design for NCA 50TH Anniversary. As a personal touch, Tanya and Anyta also presented Mr. Simmons with small artworks in appreciation of this newly established relationship. The focus of this initial meeting of two NCA chapters is to discuss ideas and implement new efforts that will rebuild and strenghthen our current organizations, while inspiring and creating a broader network of creative exchanges for currrent and new NCA artists. In 2011, our first goal is to organize a NCA Philadelphia and NCA New York Exhibition, in which Philly artists exhibit in New York and New York artists exhibit in Philly. I am looking forward to this new network opportunity and exchange of creativity.
